Miss Dancer

Lyla loves to dance. She has enjoyed ballet and tap class from day one. She has had two reticals so far; the first one was Alice and Wonderland and they were flowers and the one she just had in June was a circus theme where they were pink poodles. Every day she ask to turn on music at home so that she can dance. At dance class she is so focus and gets the moves down so well.

Staying cool in the Summer heat

The kids love anything to do with water play. Lyla's favorite is the pool and Luke's is the sprinkler. In the fact the other night at our neighbors ( Ana and Jason) house Luke played in the sprinkler fully cloth with no cares that is wasnt warm out anymore and that he was soaked to the bone. Lyla is our little fish, she has no desire to get out the pool after she has entered it. This year we bought her arm floatings which she can now swim by herself when she is wearing them. She loves that new independence of swimming on her own. Independence in which she is fond in most areas of her life!:)

My little girl turns 3!

My little princess turned 3 last week. It has been a bitter sweet week for me. These years of her growing, talking and developing her own unique personality has been my favorite years yet it makes me sad that she not the little girl anymore who would only nap on my tummy and wouldn't talk back with attitude;).
Lyla wanted a Rainbow/Hello Kitty birthday. We celebrated her birthday with her playdate friends with a picnic at the park and on her actual birthday we had our good neighbors and family over for pizza, mickey ears and cake. She really enjoyed herself, it was fun watching her interact with her friends.

I'm not cool like my kids

They say when your kids hit their teens is when they become too cool for you. However in my case my kids are already too cool for their mommy. And they are only 9mos and 2 1/2yrs. I have never been know for my sense of style. I'm your tank top and jeans kind of girl. My children on the other hand have style and aren't afraid to take fashion risk(for ex. the outfits my 2yr old picks out looks like she closed her eyes and just grab some clothes from her dresser). Lyla is also known for adding a tutu to every outfit and Luke knows how to sport any cap and polo shirt. My children have encourage me to take a look at my style and try to flare it up a little. Just the other day not only did I wear a bracelet but I also wore a ring other then my wedding ring! And I have to say I felt great, I felt stylish! Our children teach us patience, unconditional love and in my case they also teaching me to have a little style.

All About Mommy

Class 2006 CSUF
Teaching Abroad in China
Wonderful girlfriends

Love, love my little family

It would be impossible to write about mommy without mentioning Lyla and Luke, bcause her love for her children is amazing beyond belief. She makes every effort to make sure that they receive healthy and wholesome nutrition and stimulation. She breastfed Lyla for a full year, and is in her 9th month of breastfeeding Luke; and I give so much credit to their amazing health to Krystle's breastmilk. On top of that, she makes 90% of Luke's baby food by hand, ensuring that Luke is fed fresh nutritious meals, and that daddy saves some money :) She keeps their television to a minimum (and supports daddy's belief in having only 1 tv in the house), and instead plays hands-on with them, both in doors and out. Just today, I came home from work to find mommy and Lyla decorating t-shirts. Just makes me smile.

But who is this lady that became this amazing mommy? Krystle was a sorority girl at Cal State Fullerton when I met her, working full-time at "Mimi's" cafe to put herself to school. She's always loved travel and adventure, especially the outdoors, as she NEVER complained when I dragged her somewhere... In fact, she is quick to suggest trips of her own. We started off with lots and lots trips, both small and big (Big Bear, Mexico, Northern California, Western Europe... and as anyone who knowns Krystle knows, Yosemite!). Soon she decided to go to China to teach English, and ended up in a Chinese city (Shijiazhuang) completely off the tourist map for an entire semester, teaching English to elementary schoool students. Since returning, we got married :) and Krystle'ss sense of adventure has continued. Even when pregnant, she was excited to come to the middle east, and we spent a month in the UAE and Oman. We've been back to Europe, to the east coast, and of course, back in Yosemite. I love Krystle's love of travel!

Krystle loves to cook, and cooks fabulous meals every night. She loves to run, and is my inspiration to stay in shape... even though she woops my butt, hehe. She keeps the house clean, the family fed, and is the glue that keeps this family functioning. I love you honey!

Preggos with Luke

All About Luke

Not a fan of the bath in the beginning but now he loves it!

Luke is our Mr. Smiley, always in a good mood. Nothing can stop him, he's crawling now but walking is just around the corner for this handsome boy. He is curious about EVERYTHING, and gets into just about everything(his favorite right now is the Entertainment center). And he is quite the flirt!
Best Easter basket

Loves his big sister, he laughs at all her silliness!

Naps

I have yet to figure out why a child, in this case let's get specific, a TODDLER, won't nap when she knows she is tired. Why I don't get it???Because if some big giant came and tucked me in to bed I would be happy, I wouldn't be crying for an hour arguing. But never less I'm not the lucky one taking the nap, its my daughter and today she cried for an hour til she finally fell asleep. Aren't they just so cute when they are sleeping?
