All About Mommy

Love, love my little family

It would be impossible to write about mommy without mentioning Lyla and Luke, bcause her love for her children is amazing beyond belief. She makes every effort to make sure that they receive healthy and wholesome nutrition and stimulation. She breastfed Lyla for a full year, and is in her 9th month of breastfeeding Luke; and I give so much credit to their amazing health to Krystle's breastmilk. On top of that, she makes 90% of Luke's baby food by hand, ensuring that Luke is fed fresh nutritious meals, and that daddy saves some money :) She keeps their television to a minimum (and supports daddy's belief in having only 1 tv in the house), and instead plays hands-on with them, both in doors and out. Just today, I came home from work to find mommy and Lyla decorating t-shirts. Just makes me smile.

But who is this lady that became this amazing mommy? Krystle was a sorority girl at Cal State Fullerton when I met her, working full-time at "Mimi's" cafe to put herself to school. She's always loved travel and adventure, especially the outdoors, as she NEVER complained when I dragged her somewhere... In fact, she is quick to suggest trips of her own. We started off with lots and lots trips, both small and big (Big Bear, Mexico, Northern California, Western Europe... and as anyone who knowns Krystle knows, Yosemite!). Soon she decided to go to China to teach English, and ended up in a Chinese city (Shijiazhuang) completely off the tourist map for an entire semester, teaching English to elementary schoool students. Since returning, we got married :) and Krystle'ss sense of adventure has continued. Even when pregnant, she was excited to come to the middle east, and we spent a month in the UAE and Oman. We've been back to Europe, to the east coast, and of course, back in Yosemite. I love Krystle's love of travel!

Krystle loves to cook, and cooks fabulous meals every night. She loves to run, and is my inspiration to stay in shape... even though she woops my butt, hehe. She keeps the house clean, the family fed, and is the glue that keeps this family functioning. I love you honey!

Preggos with Luke

All About Luke

Not a fan of the bath in the beginning but now he loves it!

Luke is our Mr. Smiley, always in a good mood. Nothing can stop him, he's crawling now but walking is just around the corner for this handsome boy. He is curious about EVERYTHING, and gets into just about everything(his favorite right now is the Entertainment center). And he is quite the flirt!
Best Easter basket

Loves his big sister, he laughs at all her silliness!

First Halloween

Naps

I have yet to figure out why a child, in this case let's get specific, a TODDLER, won't nap when she knows she is tired. Why I don't get it???Because if some big giant came and tucked me in to bed I would be happy, I wouldn't be crying for an hour arguing. But never less I'm not the lucky one taking the nap, its my daughter and today she cried for an hour til she finally fell asleep. Aren't they just so cute when they are sleeping?

Four Little Altenbach's

Always wanted to blog, so here I go...January 23, 2012

A wife, a husband and two kids make the "Four Little Altenbachs" but really not that little my husband is 6'3, me well I have shrunk to a height of 5'8(which is still consider tall) and our two children won't stop growing. I can't believe my oldest is going to be 3 this year. It only seem like yesterday I was giving birth to our baby girl, Lyla Frances Altenbach, July 13, 2009 at 9pm. She weighed in at 6lbs 10oz, 19in.
Lyla
My husband pointed out the other day that our youngest, Luke Theodor has now been out of my belly as long he was in my belly. I'm telling you they wont stop growing. Luke was born on April 18, 2011 at 5:05pm weighing 6lbs 15oz, 19 1/2 inches.

Here is the both of them NOW

I guess I shouldn't get to far ahead of myself, before the Four Little Altenbachs, there was just me and the hubby. We got married July 19, 2008 in Yosemite National Park with all our friends and family. It was a magical week and a especially magical day. Two months later I was pregnant with Lyla.
